Gray Fox Homeschool Program
School-Year Weekly Homeschool Program
Ages 7-15
About the Program:
Are you homeschooling your children? Looking for nature-based mentoring and character development for your children? Looking for like-minded, nature-loving families?
Come and join a community of families, children and mentors who deeply care about the interplay between human development and nature, and put that care into action. Nearly all sessions are outdoors, in the wild woods of Orange Twin Conservation Land, just 4 miles from downtown Athens.
With a maximum mentor-to-child ratio of 1:7, our programs allow for children to have free-play in nature, all the while being "invisibly" (and visibly) mentored within a community of fellow learners. In such an environment, using our 8-fold curriculum of survival skills and nature awareness, children are encouraged to push their individual growing "edges," cultivate their own self-motivation for learning, and continually deepen their relationship with and understand of nature, community and themselves.
When:
Tuesdays, 9:30 - 2:30 (5 hrs) - *excepting holidays and other breaks
Program begins September 2, 2013 and ends April 28, 2013 (Year-End Honoring and Acknowledgement Celebration on May 3)
Total Number of Sessions = 25 + 2 overnights during the year
Where:
Orange Twin Land Conservation
Tuition:
Tuition for the year is $1150 if paid in full by July 1. (Tuition is $1250 after July 1)*A Note on Pay Schedule: In order to have a dependable budget and hire mentors for the entire school-year, we kindly request for payment upfront as much as possible. Payment plans are possible, however there will be a 5-10% increase in overall tuition for payment plans, depending on the plan. Inquire for details. Limited partial scholarships are available (email sarah@wildintellingence to apply for one).
Please contact Sarah Hubbard to register or if you have any questions.
